Dr Imran Durrani Residence

The client envisioned a spacious duplex dwelling on their expansive 4 kanal plot, with a particular emphasis on a luminous and well-ventilated basement. Departing from the conventional notion of a dark and enclosed subterranean space, the architectural solution involved designing the basement with openings on three sides. This ingenious design created a central void that acts as a natural ventilation shaft, drawing in abundant fresh air and daylight, transforming the basement into an inviting and airy sanctuary.

Further enhancing the home’s eco-consciousness, meticulous attention was given to integrating sustainable features. Rainwater harvesting systems were strategically implemented to capture and store precious rainwater, reducing reliance on municipal water supplies, while compost tanks transformed organic waste into nutrient-rich compost for gardening and landscaping. Crowning the dwelling’s commitment to sustainability, solar panels were seamlessly integrated into the design, harnessing the abundant sunlight to generate clean and renewable energy, thus minimizing the dwelling’s carbon footprint. This thoughtful fusion of design and sustainability exemplifies a harmonious balance between modern living and environmental responsibility, showcasing a dwelling that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also treads lightly on the planet.
